Azawakh
are from the Sahel region of Africa, particularly Mali, Niger, and
Burkina Faso. The Sahel is the transition area between the
Sahara and the wetter tropical southern regions. The Sahel is
a sparse savannah, and is rapidly becoming more desert-like.
The people of the region are primarily nomadic, and the Azawakh is
associated with the Tuareg tribe. Azawakh are sighthounds, and
they serve as hunters, guards, and companions to their people. For
more information on Azawakh, please see the
Kel
Simoon

Chad
is named for Lake Chad, a lake in central Africa at the juncture of
Chad, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Niger. He is a big boy, and at
one year old, stands 28 inches at the shoulder.
Hasani means "handsome" in Tamasheq, which is the language
of the Tuareg. And handsome he is! The "little
man" is the apple of everyone's eye... even Hunter's!
